Cards come in two types – charge cards and credit cards. There are five charge and credit cards offered by the American Express Canada. The Business Platinum Card is a charge card that allows business customers to earn 1.25 rewards points for every $1 in purchases. Travel booking can be charged to the card, and the company pays it with points, including taxes and fees. Points can be transferred to Aeroplan, allowing business card holders to travel to some 965 destinations included in the Star Alliance network. As a bonus feature, the card also entitles cardholders to Employee Card Misuse Protection. The American Express Business Gold Rewards Card is another charge card that comes with no preset spending limit and annual fee of $180 which can be again tax deductible. There is no annual fee the first year while supplementary cards cost $50 a year. They are free the first year. Business clients earn 1 bonus point for every $1 charged to the card and can earn as much as 40,000 rewards points a year. Points can be redeemed for travel the same way as with the Business Platinum card. In addition, cardholders can redeem points at Apple, Sony, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, and Home Depot. As a first option for a credit card, clients can opt for the American Express AIR MILES Platinum Business Card. They earn 250 air miles with the first purchase charged to the card. The card is featured with an annual fee of $99 while supplementary cards are issued free-of-charge. The interest rate is set at 19.99 percent. Cardholders earn 1 bonus mile for every $10 in purchases. The American Express AIR MILES Gold Business Card is another credit card featured with no annual fee and interest rate of 19.99 percent on fund advances and purchases. Clients who choose this option earn 1 bonus mile for every $20 in purchases. Points can be redeemed for travel bookings, cars, flights, and package vacations and cruises. The card comes with a welcome bonus of 100 miles with the first purchase. Supplementary cards can be issued at no added cost. The American Express Business Card is yet another option for a credit card which allows business owners to earn cash rebates. The card goes with no annual fee and interest rate of 19.99 percent. Supplementary cards are issued for free, and the cash rebate can be as much as $1,250 a year. All cards can be obtained with optional features such as Trip Cancellation Coverage, Emergency Medical Insurance, and Trip Interruption Coverage.
